As a visual artist, Katy is interested in color, texture, and negative space. A self-taught painter, she approaches her work with a sense of openness and play. Katy works primarily in acrylic (occasionally oils), and prefers to work on large-scale canvases or board. She has been painting since 2005.

Katy’s photography can be loosely divided into travel photography and photojournalistic-style portraits. As a musician herself, she particularly enjoys working with musicians in live-performance or studio settings. She has also shot photos (and done graphic design) for album art and promotional materials. She shoots on a Nikon D7000.

But her first love was music. Katy is a singer and songwriter who enjoys working in a variety of genres, from rock to folk to country to choral music. She also plays guitar and keyboard. Katy has performed and recorded both solo and with bands, and she is available for session work (remote or in-person). You can find some of her work on YouTube, SoundCloud, and Bandcamp (or wherever you stream music).
